About The Position

Nawa is hiring a Lead Float for our custodial team in Grand Rapids! This is a great opportunity for a reliable, detail-oriented individual with leadership experience who enjoys hands-on work and can effectively manage a team across multiple locations. The pay rate is $19.50 per hour. This is a full-time position. The schedule is Monday-Friday, mainly second shift hours, but must be flexible to work occasional day shifts and occasional weekends. The role involves supervising and assisting custodial staff at all sites, covering shifts and assisting with routine cleaning as needed, delivering and picking up supplies and equipment, ensuring quality standards are met at all job sites, monitoring and supporting clock-in/out compliance, communicating effectively with clients and internal teams, providing training and enforcing company policies and safety practices. The Lead Float will travel between assigned customer locations throughout the greater Grand Rapids area, including sites up to one hour away, as needed. They will also communicate regularly with the regional manager regarding team progress and client satisfaction. The schedule is flexible based on client needs, including weekends if required.

Requirements

  • Must be 18+ with valid ID
  • Strong attendance and leadership skills
  • Ability to pass background check with no past or pending felonies or misdemeanors, and drug screen (including for THC)
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle to drive during shift
  • Comfortable with technology and able to use standard office equipment and programs
  • At least 1 year of custodial experience required
  • 1 year previous leadership or supervisory experience required
  • Ability to lift 40+ lbs and stand/walk for long periods
  • Strong attention to detail and team management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and assist custodial staff at all sites
  • Cover shifts and assist with routine cleaning as needed
  • Deliver and pick up supplies and equipment
  • Ensure quality standards are met at all job sites
  • Monitor and support clock-in/out compliance
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams
