About The Position

Keeps premises of commercial, retail, airports, hospitality, healthcare, convention centers/arenas or other institutional buildings in clean and orderly condition.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in janitorial housekeeping preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization in English.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Basic computer skills desired but not required.
  • No certifications needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Facility Manager with scheduling.
  • Assist with administrative duties.
  • Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
  • Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
  • Lifts chairs and places them over tables (approx. chair weight: 20-25 lbs.).
  • Moves chemicals (5 gal buckets approx. weight 40+ lbs.).
  • Moves tables (approx. weight 40+ lbs.).
  • Operates different types of equipment (i.e. burnishers, scrubbers, pressure washer).
  • Uses ManLift or ScissorLift Machine.
  • Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Supervision of shift responsibility.
  • Handling employee issues.
