About The Position

Under direct supervision, the Custodial Services Worker performs a variety of duties to maintain order, sanitation, and cleanliness throughout the facility. The position maintains custodial supplies and performs general janitorial and maintenance-related duties as assigned. The role is based at Macon YDC in Macon, Georgia, with a day shift.

Requirements

Any combination of training and experience that would have enabled the applicant to acquire the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties.
The selected applicant will be subject to a reference check and criminal background check, where applicable.

Responsibilities

Maintain custodial supplies and restock assigned areas as needed.
Clean and straighten assigned areas.
Perform floor care and maintenance.
Collect, sort, launder, transport, and distribute linens and uniforms.
Follow required safety precautions when handling and disposing of contaminated refuse.
Operate hand tools as needed.
Respond to general maintenance requests and perform janitorial duties inside and outside the facility.
Clean and maintain common areas in Main Control, the Administrative Building, C Cottage, and the Education Departments.
Ensure common areas are properly cleaned and stocked with daily necessities.
Remove trash and maintain waste-disposal areas.
Clean and sanitize restrooms.
Vacuum and maintain common areas.
Keep kitchen areas clean and sanitary.
