About The Position

American Facility Services is seeking a hands-on Custodial Manager to oversee custodial operations at a major government facility in Fulton County, GA. This is a working leadership role responsible for managing custodial staff, maintaining cleaning and sanitation standards, ensuring security and compliance requirements are met, and providing exceptional service to the customer. This position requires a strong field presence and a high degree of accountability for staff performance, quality control, and contract compliance. This is not a desk job. Managers are expected to be actively engaged in daily operations, conduct routine inspections, coach employees, address staffing challenges, and support cleaning operations when necessary.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of custodial, janitorial, or facility management experience.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with quality assurance inspections and contract compliance.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing employees in government, courthouse, educational, healthcare, or other high-security environments preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Experience working in courthouses, government facilities, public sector buildings, or other secure environments is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise custodial personnel across assigned facilities.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop team members.
  • Conduct routine inspections and quality audits.
  • Hold employees accountable for attendance, performance, safety, and customer service.
  • Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with contract requirements and facility security protocols.
  • Manage staffing schedules, labor hours, supplies, and equipment.
  • Respond promptly to operational issues, customer concerns, and emergency situations.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with facility representatives.
  • Complete required reports, inspections, and documentation accurately and on time.
  • Assist with custodial duties when needed to ensure service expectations are met.
