Jamestown Salish Seasons (JSS) is seeking a dedicated Custodial Maintenance professional to help maintain a clean, safe, secure, and welcoming environment for residents receiving inpatient behavioral health services. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of custodial, environmental services, facility maintenance, or related experience.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and environmental cleaning practices.
  • Ability to safely operate custodial equipment and basic maintenance tools.
  • Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing operational needs.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a healthcare, residential treatment, behavioral health, hospital, or long-term care environment.
  • Experience with infection prevention and environmental services in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of OSHA/WISHA environmental services standards.
  • Experience working with Tribal communities or culturally diverse populations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning assigned areas, restrooms, furniture, fixtures, windows, and walls.
  • Perform routine and deep cleaning throughout the facility using established environmental services procedures and infection prevention standards.
  • Clean and disinfect resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, nursing stations, offices, treatment areas, and other facility spaces.
  • Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces using approved infection prevention protocols.
  • Empty trash and recycling receptacles and properly dispose of waste.
  • Replenish paper products, soap, sanitizer, and other facility supplies.
  • Follow approved environmental services procedures in accordance with infection prevention practices, OSHA/WISHA standards, and organizational policies.
  • Perform light cleaning of occupied resident rooms while respecting resident privacy, dignity, and the therapeutic environment.
  • Prepare resident rooms between admissions and discharges by changing linens, sanitizing rooms and bathrooms, replenishing supplies, and ensuring rooms are clean, safe, and ready for occupancy.
  • Maintain resident and common areas in a clean, welcoming, and recovery-oriented manner.
  • Perform light facility maintenance including replacing light bulbs, minor plumbing repairs, unclogging drains, repairing fixtures, adjusting furniture, and similar maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain and repair custodial equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and other environmental services equipment.
  • Perform groundskeeping duties including pressure washing, snow removal, de-icing, debris removal, and exterior maintenance.
  • Monitor facility conditions and promptly report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, security concerns, and repair needs through established work order processes.
  • Monitor inventory levels of custodial supplies, equipment, and maintenance materials and notify appropriate staff when replenishment is needed.
  • Assist with facility readiness by unlocking and securing assigned areas as appropriate.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness activities, safety drills, and disaster response efforts.
  • Safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS), OSHA/WISHA requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Attend all required training, including Bloodborne Pathogens, HIPAA, workplace safety, emergency preparedness, and other required education.
  • Follow all JSS policies and procedures related to safety, confidentiality, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational staff to coordinate cleaning and maintenance activities while minimizing disruption to resident care.
  • Perform duties with awareness of behavioral health safety practices and promptly report resident safety concerns to clinical staff.
  • Provide courteous, professional, and respectful customer service to residents, visitors, contractors, and fellow employees.
  • Support a clean, safe, welcoming, and recovery-oriented environment that promotes resident dignity and healing.
  • May provide support to other Jamestown HealthCARE facilities as operational needs require.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
