About The Position

The Custodial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment within facilities. This role combines general custodial duties with basic maintenance tasks to ensure buildings, equipment, and grounds are well cared for and operate efficiently.

Requirements

  • Technical certificate or three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrates good customer service and possesses basic knowledge in safety and security, general cleaning and sanitizing, minor upholstery cleaning, and inventory tracking.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Outlook and Teams, along with building management and security system software.
  • General insurance industry knowledge.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence as well as read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers.
  • Replenish supplies such as paper products, soap, and cleaning materials.
  • Follow proper cleaning and sanitation standards.
  • Perform minor repairs (e.g., plumbing leaks, light fixture replacement, door adjustments).
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Set up and tear down rooms for meetings or events.
  • Report major repair needs or safety concerns to a supervisor.
  • Daily boiler room and building rounds.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines.
  • Use cleaning chemicals and equipment properly.
  • Maintain a safe and hazard-free environment.
