About The Position

The Custodial Helper assists the plant manager in maintaining the safety, security, cleanliness, and appearance of the physical plant. This role involves cleaning various areas, responding to requests, and performing other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Must be able to read and comprehend service order and repair request documents.
Must be able to read and write.
Must be able to comprehend instructions on the operation of equipment of all types and on the use of chemicals used in cleaning operations.
Trunk flexion and squatting are necessary requirements in accomplishing tasks such as working under raised buildings, in attic spaces, toilet room enclosures, etc., often necessitating carrying tools, building materials, etc.
Conduct activities in group settings maintaining an objective attitude, decorum and diplomacy, tact and discretion.

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness of halls and entrances.
Clean walls and windows.
Check dressing rooms.
Clean classroom units as specified in accordance with the working schedule and minimum cleaning schedule specific school needs.
Be responsive to the coordinator, plant manager, and/or assistant custodian where appropriate.
Perform all other duties as required by the plant manager or Coordinator of Maintenance & Custodial Services.
