About The Position

The Custodial Helper assists the plant manager in maintaining the safety, security, cleanliness, and appearance of the physical plant. This role involves a variety of cleaning tasks and requires the ability to comprehend instructions and operate equipment.

Requirements

• Must be able to read and write.
• Must be able to comprehend instructions on the operation of equipment of all types and on the use of chemicals used in cleaning operations.
• Must be able to read and comprehend service order and repair request documents.
• Trunk flexion and squatting are necessary requirements in accomplishing tasks such as working under raised buildings, in attic spaces, toilet room enclosures, etc., often necessitating carrying tools, building materials, etc.
• Conduct activities in group settings maintaining an objective attitude, decorum and diplomacy, tact and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of halls and entrances.
• Clean walls and windows.
• Check dressing rooms.
• Clean classroom units as specified in accordance with the working schedule and minimum cleaning schedule specific school needs.
• Be responsive to the coordinator, plant manager, and/or assistant custodian where appropriate.
• Perform all other duties as required by the plant manager or Coordinator of Maintenance & Custodial Services.
