About The Position
The Custodial Helper assists the plant manager in maintaining the safety, security, cleanliness, and appearance of the physical plant.
Requirements
- Must be able to read and write.
- Must be able to comprehend instructions on operation of equipment of all types and on the use of chemicals used in cleaning operation.
- Must be able to read and comprehend service order and repair request documents.
- Trunk flexion and squatting are necessary requirements in accomplishing tasks such as working under raised buildings, in attic spaces, toilet room enclosures, etc., often necessitating carrying tools, building materials, etc.
- Comprehend written instructions.
- Conduct activities in group settings maintaining an objective attitude, decorum and diplomacy, tact and discretion.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of halls and entrances.
- Clean walls and windows.
- Check dressing rooms.
- Clean classroom units as specified in accordance with working schedule and minimum cleaning schedule specific school needs.
- Be responsive to coordinator, plant manager and/or assistant custodian where appropriate.
- Perform all other duties as required by the plant manager or Coordinator of Maintenance & Custodial Services.
