About The Position

The Custodial Foreperson will be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the areas assigned and provides some work direction to custodial staff. This role involves performing janitorial duties, assisting in scheduling and training staff, operating motorized cleaning equipment, ordering and maintaining supplies, and performing quality, service, and safety inspections.

Requirements

• High school diploma / GED required.
• 2-5 years related experience
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification
• Completed all safety and task training certification.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team.
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
• Knowledge of Database software; internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Nice To Haves

• May be required to have a valid driver’s license.
• May be required to be forklift certified.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Provide work direction and assistance to custodians
• Assist in scheduling and training staff as needed
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Order, track, and maintain equipment and supplies
• Schedule clean up and repairs as needed
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Assist in purchasing cleaning supplies and equipment
• Perform quality, service, and safety inspections
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Report employee personnel and customer issues to supervisor
• Monitor employees for proper use of personal protective equipment, and supplies
• Correct at risk behavior, then report to the supervisor immediately
• Provide recommendations for corrective action on areas that need improvement
