About The Position

The Custodial Crew Member is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas and provides some work direction to custodial staff. The role is accountable for completing assigned duties with minimal supervision and interacting positively and effectively with customer and client contacts and Endeavors staff. The employee helps maintain exceptional custodial services at customer facilities.

This position performs janitorial work, operates motorized cleaning equipment, maintains required records, and follows applicable safety practices, including the use of required personal protective equipment. It also includes responding to requests, providing exceptional customer service, and traveling to various locations as business needs require.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Four months to one year of experience as a custodian.
• Maintain regular and acceptable attendance as determined by the employer.
• Valid driver’s license with a clear record.
• Daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.
• Willingness and availability to travel to various locations as frequently as business needs dictate.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to present a friendly and positive demeanor to parents, school personnel, licensing, staff, and the general public.
• Ability to make oral presentations.
• Ability to remain calm and maintain self-control during difficult circumstances and emergencies, and to respond professionally in all situations.
• Ability to set work priorities, evaluate work-related problems, and create solutions.
• Ability to think analytically and evaluate the impact of decisions.
• Ability to plan ahead several months to a year and keep ongoing projects and files organized and accurate.
• Above-normal levels of concentration and memory.
• Good time-management practices and ability to meet multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas.
• Provide some work direction to custodial staff.
• Complete assigned duties with a minimum level of supervision.
• Interact positively with customer and client contacts and Endeavors staff, and respond to requests personally and effectively.
• Perform janitorial duties as necessary to meet customer and contract requirements.
• Operate motorized equipment used for cleaning.
• Demonstrate safe work habits and observe applicable worker safety practices, including using required personal protective equipment.
• Maintain required records, including inventory, checklists, and cleaning inspections.
• Provide exceptional customer service by placing the child, family, Veteran, or client first in support of the organization’s mission.
• Perform other job-related duties assigned by the Custodial Manager and Supervisors.
