Curriculum Media Specialist
About The Position
The Curriculum Media Specialist will perform assigned tasks and support department team members to meet curriculum media timelines and deliverables. This includes branding and formatting student/public facing PDF documents, captioning instructional videos, transcribing instructional audio components, editing video and audio, and other curriculum media elements as assigned. The specialist will adhere to curriculum department requirements and expectations for all types of digital curriculum media, including meeting accessibility standards and adhering to branding guidelines. They will coordinate curriculum media resources and manage assigned tasks to meet project milestones and deliverables, while increasing knowledge and application of best practices in methods, strategies, standards, and effectiveness of creating/editing curriculum media assets. Collaboration in the development and/or refinement of tools and guides to improve the quality of digital media asset generation, editing, and organization is also a key aspect of this role. The specialist will identify opportunities and share ideas for initiatives to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of curriculum media generation and the curriculum media phase of curriculum materials production, including supporting subject matter team members in the creation of video, audio, and graphic components and within the processes and procedures of the curriculum media team. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent certifications in relevant field(s)
- Equivalent of 2 years of experience in professional digital pdf creation/editing and graphics creation/editing
- Equivalent of 2 years of experience in professional digital curriculum media related to audio and video creation/editing
- Command of Microsoft Office 365 products and platforms
- Knowledge of and experience with industry-leading digital video, audio, and graphic creation/editing software, to include Adobe Creative Suite software, Synthesia AI-assisted video creation software, and other media tools and software
- Meticulous, detail-oriented approach to work
- Ability to consistently produce high-quality work and prioritize tasks while meeting tight deadlines
- Experienced in effective collaboration with writers and team members with varying skill sets and levels of technical abilities
- Strength in effective communication with content writers, editors, coders, and other curriculum development staff
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
Nice To Haves
- 2 years of experience with Adobe Creative Suite software (Indesign, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Premiere, and After Effects)
- Media storage server organization and maintenance
- Proficiency with SmartSheet or similar project management software
- Familiarity with Articulate Storyline

- Increase knowledge and application of best practices in methods, strategies, standards, and effectiveness of creating/editing curriculum media assets.
- Collaborate in the development and/or refinement of tools and guides to improve the quality of digital media asset generation, editing and organization.
- Identify opportunities and share ideas for initiatives to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of curriculum media generation and the curriculum media phase of curriculum materials production, to include opportunities involving the support of subject matter team members in the creation of video, audio, and graphic components and within the processes and procedures of the curriculum media team.
