About The Position

The primary focus of this role is developing Houston ISD NES (New Education System) curriculum in 6th through 11th grade Science, with a specific emphasis on job-embedded professional development and supporting the writing of teacher-facing curriculum including slide decks with teacher guidance for implementation, Demonstration of Learning (DOL), student activities and differentiated assignments aligned to the learning objective provided for each day through review and internalization practices with designers, leaders and teachers.

Requirements

• Experience in curriculum development.
• Knowledge of 6th through 11th grade Science.
• Ability to create teacher-facing curriculum materials.
• Skills in developing slide decks with implementation guidance.
• Experience in creating Demonstrations of Learning (DOL).
• Ability to design student activities.
• Experience in creating differentiated assignments.
• Proficiency in review and internalization practices.
• Collaboration skills with designers, leaders, and teachers.
