About The Position

The Curriculum Coach/Floating Director will assist the Program Director by assisting all programs with curriculum implementation, accreditation, licensing, and quality oversight of general practice, policy, and procedures vital to all major and minor functionality of Children’s Harbor centers. The Curriculum Coach/Floating Director will also support the Center Director in all areas of programming as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, or related field required.
  • Prior experience in a leadership role managing multiple high-level staff, minimum of 5 years.
  • Minimum of an associate degree in early childhood education and at least 5 years’ experience in a leadership role required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to influence staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of: VDOE Licensing standards and regulations, C.L.A.S.S., NAEYC accreditation, Early Childhood Best Practices, Early Childhood development, Classroom Environments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field is desired.
  • Eight or more years of progressive experience and responsibility in childcare or early childhood education are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee curriculum implementation (Fidelity checks)
  • Conduct center audits to ensure fidelity and quality with the classroom across the agency
  • Create and follow up on center improvement plans from audit findings.
  • Provide direct support and T/A to the centers such as coaching, training, and guidance as needed for licensing, NAEYC, C.L.A.S.S, child development, etc.
  • Provide coverage in the absence of the Center Director and Assistant Center Director as needed
  • Conduct classroom observations daily.
  • Provide T/A (reviewing results, follow up and tracking) for ASQ evaluations, ensuring full compliance
  • Stay current and knowledgeable in all areas related to program implementation and quality improvement (Curriculum, Assessments, etc.)
  • Provide T/A with maintaining NAEYC accreditation.
  • Provide coaching and development to continuously improve C.L.A.S.S. scores for VQB5 (Virginia Quality Birth to Five)
  • Maintain CLASS Certification in all age groups
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
