CBC Ottawa is looking for a producer to lead our top-rated radio current affairs afternoon radio program, All In A Day. Reporting to the executive producer of audio, the producer will work with a team of associate producers, reporters and on-air talent to create exclusive and engaging programming that informs and entertains the audience of the Ottawa region. We are looking for a strong, dynamic journalist who is innovative and adaptive, and who inspires others to experiment and take risks. You will be a strategic thinker who puts audience needs at the centre of your decision-making, ensuring our programming connects our audiences to the news they need to know, the stories that affect their lives and the issues that resonate in their communities. As someone with a proven track record of targeting and growing audiences, you will be responsible for developing a strategy and vision for All In A Day to broaden its reach beyond radio audiences through digital and visual storytelling. You will also strive to broaden the range of perspectives, experiences and points of view reflected on our programming, especially those from people who have been traditionally underrepresented in the media. You will prioritize audience engagement and community connections, and look for new ways for All In A Day to reach people where they are. As a leader, you are naturally collaborative, skilled at navigating conflict and change, breaking down silos and developing a representative and inclusive culture. You will guide, coach and support the members of the All In A Day, collaborate with journalists across the newsroom, and work closely with our communications department. This position is a full time permanent position that requires full time on-site presence.
