About The Position

SWCA Environmental Consultants is expanding their team and looking for dynamic individuals who are following their passion in delivering the highest-quality project work. We are looking to hire a Cultural Resources Technical Advisor to support our cultural resources practice in the New Mexico/Four Corners region. Our New Mexico – Four Corners office offers a unique work environment and specializes in multi-disciplinary projects across a range of industries and geographies. Your role will be to lead field efforts and manage agency deliverables. This will be an On-Demand/On-Call position paying hourly rates. The position can be based in the Albuquerque, NM area or remote (= Distributed) in the Mountain or Pacific Time Zone.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Archaeology or Anthropology required
Minimum of ten (10) years of cultural resources supervisory and fieldwork experience required
Experience in New Mexico archaeology required
Experience with Section 106 required
Qualified to be listed on the New Mexico State and New Mexico BLM Permit for History or Archaeological Investigations

Nice To Haves

Minimum of fifteen (15) years preferred
Technical specialization (i.e. lithic analysis, faunal analysis, historical archaeology, architectural history, etc.) preferred
Past peer-reviewed publication record and conference presentation experience preferred
Ability to be listed on various federal and state cultural resource permits in other states desired

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of field research, data collection, inventory, analysis, and final report production insuring it is conducted to the specific state and federal requirements.
As needed, author large technical reports, research designs, treatment plans and other technical documents.
Maintain good working relationships with state and federal agency contacts and clients following relevant work protocols.
Provide leadership and mentorship for other cultural resource staff.
