About The Position

The Culinary Specialist is a professional who manages food preparation and service in various settings. They oversee daily operations in the kitchen, ensuring food quality and safety standards are followed. They also handle inventory management and budget control. Their duties include monitoring sanitation practices, preparing food items according to recipe guidelines. Their focus is on providing an exceptional food and beverage experiences while maintaining safety and quality standards. The Culinary Specialist will work 8 hours per shift, 5 or 6+ days each week, based on occupancy and staffing demand. Holidays and weekends are affected by peak demand which means all team members must work together during those days to keep Food & Beverage operations running efficiently. Responsible to prepare menu items at six uniquely themed food and beverage locations. Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Supervisor to complete orders as directed and in a timely manner to meet capacity demands. Adhere to ServSafe training guidelines including, but not limited to; handwashing, food storage, cooking temperatures, hot and cold holding parameters, and equipment, infrastructure and eater requirements. Adhere to ABC licensing regulations in food facility locations where alcoholic beverages are served. Compliance with Food safety in regard to the conditions and practices which preserve the quality of food, to prevent contamination and food-borne illnesses. Multitask alongside fellow culinary specialists. Compliance with TOSHA certifications, biohazards procedures and responsibilities for safety in handling. Knowledge and ability to comply with all company operating policies and procedures. Perform other incidental and related duties as required and/or assigned. Management reserves the right to change, remove or add to these duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work within a diversified workforce.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, demanding work environment.
  • Above average organizational skills and attention to detail (ATD).
  • Ability to communicate effectively and use the English language fluently: speak, understand, read, and write.
  • Adapt Spanish interpretation when necessary.
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends during peak demand.
  • Must obtain 'ABC' (Alcoholic Beverage Commission) license certification within 5 days from work start date.
  • Must obtain 'ServSafe Food Handler Program' certification within 30 days from work start date (Basic Food Safety, Personal Hygiene, Cross-Contamination and Allergens, Time & Temperature, & Cleaning and Sanitation).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas/industries is preferred which includes: Hospitality, Culinary Management and Restaurant.
