About The Position

The Culinary Assistant provides dining room and to-go meal service to residents at The Sanctuary at Brooklyn Center Senior Living, an affordable senior living community with 158 Assisted Living and Memory Care apartments. The position serves meals, maintains a clean and inviting dining area, follows meal-service and cleaning procedures, and supports positive resident relations and satisfaction. The schedule alternates weekly: Week 1, Monday and Tuesday, 3:30 p.m.–7 p.m.; Week 2, Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday, 3:30 p.m.–7 p.m.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of experience.

• 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals and ensure the dining area is clean and inviting.
• Follow the meal-serving schedule and procedures.
• Offer residents meal choices and meet their specific dietary needs.
• Use proper safety and sanitation techniques.
• Follow the dining room cleaning schedule and procedures.
• Follow proper dining room setup procedures.
• Follow proper workflow to stay on task.
• Learn and become proficient with the EMenu System and restaurant-style service.
• Wash, sanitize, and put away all dishes, including flatware and drinkware, before the end of the shift.
• Welcome residents and initiate conversation.
• Accommodate resident requests, such as food substitutions or seating changes.
• Listen to complaints and respond appropriately; refer issues to the Executive Director and Culinary Director as appropriate.
