About The Position

This position is a 12-month position within Rockingham Youth Development Center teaching CTE courses to small groups of students in grades 6-12. The teacher will be responsible for planning lessons based on NC Standards and students' individual learning needs, ensuring success with all students by providing appropriate and engaging activities to teach concepts. The teacher will provide research-based strategies and interventions to offer an appropriate education for all students. The teacher will utilize data to inform all instructional activities based on NC Standards, implement IEPs, and be responsible for keeping all student records, exceptional children's program and other paperwork, and student progress up to date. This position serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team to plan for student services and treatment.

Requirements

  • A valid North Carolina teacher license, "A" or "M", with teaching certification in the area of CTE (middle school) or CTE (high school) or be eligible for a NC Teacher License through an alternative licensing pathway offered by NCDPI.
  • A four year college degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution.
