About The Position

Hamilton County Schools is seeking outstanding leaders, teachers, support staff, and district employees who desire to make a difference in the lives of students. Candidates uniquely qualified for this position will have an industry background in health science. The Future Ready teacher will teach CTE courses in the health science pathways to 9-12 grade students while working with other core academic teachers to plan project-based learning opportunities and instruction with real-world connections to the career theme. Requirements

  • Must hold an Occupational Teaching license with endorsement (720) Health Science
  • Associate’s degree or above leading to a Tennessee Board of Health issued licensure in one of the following areas or occupations (Internships and Fellowships are not eligible): Registered nurse, physician, chiropractor, dentist, dental hygienist, medical laboratory technician, paramedic, athletic trainer, occupational therapist, physical therapist, respiratory therapist, radiology technician, diagnostic medical sonographer, nuclear medicine technologist, audiologist, veterinarian, physical therapy assistant, occupational therapy assistant, physician’s assistant, speech therapist, optometrist, pharmacist, dietician, podiatrist, clinical perfusionist
  • One year full-time or part-time work out of the past five years
  • Tennessee Board of Health issued license
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to deal effectively with students, educators, Board members, parents, and community members.

Responsibilities

  • The Future Ready teacher will be the liaison for this program with Erlanger Hospital and must effectively collaborate and plan academy activities with partners inside and outside the school.
  • Teach CTE courses in the health science pathways to 9-12 grade students.
  • Work with other core academic teachers to plan project-based learning opportunities and instruction with real-world connections to the career theme.
