About The Position

Performs a variety of imaging procedures, including CT/X-Ray procedures as applicable, and is responsible for patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • State licensure that permits them to perform diagnostic CT exams and documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams.
  • Registration and certification in radiography by ARRT and documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams.
  • Certification in nuclear medicine technology by ARRT or NMTCB and documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • One (1) year of radiologic/imaging experience.
  • Must be certified in CT registry within one year of hire.
  • Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
  • Possesses a high level of knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Proficiency with most major CT/X-Ray equipment manufacturer's hardware and software (GE, Siemens, Toshiba).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree is preferred, but not required.
  • Prefer specific experience and training in CT.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the care and safety of patients while performing diagnostic CT and/or XRAY exams and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients.
  • Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric, and general population.
  • Responsible for safe handling of equipment; performs a pre-procedure check on all equipment; provides preventive maintenance.
  • Instructs and prepares patients for medical imaging procedures.
  • Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly.
  • Reviews prescribed dosage of ionizing radiation for accuracy before all treatments.
  • Practices medical and surgical asepsis at all times.
  • Maintain regulatory requirements
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled; complete work within designated timelines.
  • Demonstrates the ability to adhere to the mission, ethics and goals of the District.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate with patients, guests and staff in a courteous, respectful and helpful manner.
