About The Position

Performs a variety of imaging procedures, including CT/X-Ray procedures as applicable, and is responsible for patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs. Responsible for the care and safety of patients while performing diagnostic CT and/or XRAY exams and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients. Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric, and general population. Responsible for safe handling of equipment; performs a pre-procedure check on all equipment; provides preventive maintenance. Instructs and prepares patients for medical imaging procedures. Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly. Reviews prescribed dosage of ionizing radiation for accuracy before all treatments. Practices medical and surgical asepsis at all times.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • State licensure that permits them to perform diagnostic CT exams and documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams.
  • Registration and certification in radiography by ARRT and documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams.
  • Certification in nuclear medicine technology by ARRT or NMTCB and documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • One (1) year of radiologic/imaging experience.
  • Must be certified in CT registry within one year of hire.
  • Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
  • Possesses a high level of knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Proficiency with most major CT/X-Ray equipment manufacturer's hardware and software (GE, Siemens, Toshiba).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree is preferred, but not required.
  • Prefer specific experience and training in CT.
