The CT Technologist PRN independently performs routine and complex CT examinations, applying established protocols while exercising sound clinical judgment to adapt techniques based on patient condition and diagnostic requirements. This role utilizes core knowledge and skills to function as a competent, independent technologist, performing a full range of CT exams and adjusting protocols based on patient condition and clinical indication to deliver safe, high-quality, and efficient patient-centered care in routine and emergent settings. The technologist prepares patients for procedures, correlates clinical history with physician-ordered exams, and safely administers contrast per protocol. They demonstrate the ability to recognize basic imaging artifacts and implement corrective measures, and effectively communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and the care team. Images and associated data are accurately transferred to designated systems, basic technical documentation is completed, and studies are prepared for physician reporting. Operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfection, and basic equipment maintenance are performed per manufacturer instructions and regulatory requirements. Documentation in EMR/PACS is accurate. The technologist actively participates in continuing education, professional development, and research initiatives to maintain competencies and advance quality of care and treatment practices. They also support inventory tasks as needed to help ensure supplies are available. Other duties as assigned.
