CT Technologist Hospital
About The Position
The CT Technologist performs computed tomography examinations requested by referring physicians in a hospital setting and follows Riverside Health System policies and procedures. The role includes preparing patients and explaining exams, addressing questions and concerns about procedures, inserting IVs, administering contrast injections, and completing associated patient and equipment screening and technical documentation. The technologist assists radiologists with CT procedures, selects protocols to obtain optimal images, and provides clinical documentation within the scope of practice. The position emphasizes safe, high-quality care, ALARA principles, compliance with regulatory and accrediting standards, reporting variances, coordinating and documenting patient care, and maintaining equipment, supplies, and materials.
Requirements
- ARRT Computed Tomography (CT) certification upon hire.
- CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute upon hire.
- Ability to be detail-oriented, multitask, stay organized, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Participation in call rotation, weekend shifts, and irregular shifts.

Responsibilities
- Perform CT exams and procedures requested by referring physicians in accordance with RHS policies and procedures.
- Prepare patients, explain exams, respond to patient questions and concerns, insert IVs, and administer contrast injections.
- Complete patient and equipment screening and technical documentation.
- Assist radiologists in performing CT imaging procedures.
- Select appropriate protocols to obtain optimal images and provide clinical documentation within the scope of practice.
- Apply safety and quality practices to prevent or reduce harm, including following policies, procedures, protocols, and ALARA principles.
- Prepare equipment, instrumentation, and departmental supplies needed to support quality patient care.
- Adhere to applicable regulatory and accrediting standards and report variances.
- Coordinate patient care and perform effective assessment, actions, and documentation.
- Monitor and maintain adequate supplies and materials inventory to prevent interruption of services.
