The CT Technologist is responsible for performing CT scans and assisting Radiologists/PAs during invasive procedures. This role involves patient identification, preparation, and education, as well as obtaining comprehensive medical histories and reviewing electronic medical records. The technologist prepares and administers IV contrast, evaluates image quality, and recognizes abnormal anatomy. Basic patient care functions, including initiating life support measures and assisting in "code blue" procedures, are also part of the role. Additionally, the technologist adheres to radiation safety principles, reports equipment malfunctions, and maintains a clean and stocked work area. They operate the radiology computer system for order entry and charging, document contrast administration, and assist other medical personnel as needed. The position requires flexibility in shifts, including call back, holidays, and weekends, and adherence to the Atrium Health attendance policy.
