Operates CT and auxiliary equipment, processes images, and maintains and cleans equipment. Maintains required documentation. Prepares patients for exams by relieving anxiety and explaining procedures. Ensures consent forms are obtained. Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards and departmental procedures. Positions patients and adjusts immobilization devices. Operates x-ray equipment controls for correct exposure and monitors patient condition. Recognizes and reports patient abnormalities to the Radiologist. Enters patient history data and other pertinent information. Monitors patient condition during the procedure. Operates equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival of disc memory to tape. Processes and maintains exposed images, labels film, and maintains required records. Utilizes film markers and ensures proper side indication. Ensures images are legibly labeled with correct date and patient identification. Enters exams onto the daily log sheet and completes tracking steps. Performs related duties as required. This role is considered an ADA Essential Function.
