About The Position

This position involves operating CT and X-ray equipment, processing images, and maintaining equipment and required documentation. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, from 11:30 PM to 8:00 AM, providing CT and X-ray coverage.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program, required.
• New York State and/or Connecticut Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist, required.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration, required.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience performing radiologic exams, required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam by relieving anxiety, translating the examination into layman terms, and ensuring consent forms are obtained if necessary.
• Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards and procedures, positions patients, arranges immobilization devices, and adjusts x-ray equipment for correct exposure.
• Monitors patient's condition in accordance with technical and safety standards, recognizes and reports abnormalities, keys in patient history data, and monitors patient's condition during the procedure.
• Operates equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival of disc memory to tape.
• Processes and maintains exposed images, labels film for identification, maintains required records, utilizes film markers, and ensures images are properly marked.
• Ensures images are legibly labeled with correct date and patient identification.
• Enters the exam onto the daily log sheet as needed and properly completes the correct tracking steps for each examination.
• Performs related duties as required.
