About The Position

This position involves operating MRI and auxiliary equipment, processing images, and maintaining and cleaning equipment. The role also requires maintaining required documentation. The schedule is Tuesday-Friday, 8a-4:30p, and Saturday from 7:30a-4p. The salary is $3,943/Weekly.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program, required.
New York State and/or Connecticut Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist, required.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration, required.
Minimum of one (1) year experience performing radiologic exams, required.

Responsibilities

Prepares patient for exam by relieving pre-testing anxiety, translating examination into layman terms, and ensuring consent forms are obtained if necessary.
Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards, procedures, and division protocols. Positions patients, arranges immobilization devices, and adjusts x-ray equipment to obtain correct exposures.
Monitors patient’s condition in accordance with technical and safety standards, recognizing and reporting abnormalities like fainting or contrast reactions to the Radiologist.
Keys in patient history data and other pertinent information from the requisition.
Monitors patient’s condition during the procedure.
Operates equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival of disc memory to tape.
Processes and maintains exposed images, labels film for identification, and maintains required records.
Utilizes film markers to ensure images are properly marked as the “right” or “left” side.
Ensures images are legibly labeled with correct date and patient identification.
Enters the exam onto the daily log sheet as needed.
Properly completes the correct tracking steps for each examination.
Performs related duties as required.
