About The Position

The CT Technologist is a casual position at Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital, scheduled for one 12-hour shift per pay period (every two weeks). The technologist delivers safe, high-quality imaging and a positive patient experience while supporting department needs and initiatives.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
• Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Accreditation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Computed Tomography (CT) certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient safety throughout imaging, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
• Produce diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.
• Review images before completing exams and initiate corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
• Administer contrast according to policy, including screening for contraindications and monitoring patients, as applicable.
• Operate imaging equipment and maintain imaging room readiness.
• Identify equipment performance issues and initiate follow-up through established service processes.
• Coordinate exam flow and prioritize time-sensitive studies.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record and image archive system, including exam setup, image routing, result availability, and charging accuracy.
• Follow organizational values, ethical standards, compliance requirements, and applicable quality and safety standards, including radiation safety and infection prevention measures as applicable.
• Ensure a positive patient experience throughout care delivery.
• Support department initiatives to improve relationships, reliability, efficiency, and growth.
• Support additional responsibilities aligned with patient care and department needs.
