This position requires an enhanced knowledge in the area of CT, with specific expertise and skills necessary for maintaining a safe CT environment daily. The technologist must understand basic anatomy, physiology, and physics as it pertains to CT patient care. Responsibilities include providing imaging services and transportation to patients of all ages, explaining procedures to patients and families, upholding safety standards, and following established protocols for quality service. The role emphasizes customer and patient satisfaction using AIDET principles, collaboration with other departments, and utilizing I Care principles for patient identification and communication. The technologist will practice good stewardship with resources, understand clinical history and charges, follow billing practices, and correlate clinical history with exams. Radiation safety and dose reduction practices are crucial. Administering contrast/medications, performing duties for accreditation, participating in CT quality control, and maintaining imaging equipment are key functions. The role may involve instructing students and new employees, rotating through different work areas/shifts/campuses, and potentially being on call. A charge tech or lead tech will coordinate services, act as a liaison, and inform other shifts of changes. Per Diem staff have specific holiday and availability requirements. The technologist must function proficiently with little or no supervision. For CT 3D Technologists, advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to 3D imagery, proficiency with workstation tools, and understanding image processing for diagnostic purposes and Synapse transfer are required, along with documented formal education or on-the-job training in 3D processing. DCH Standards include maintaining performance, patient and employee satisfaction, and financial standards, adhering to the Employee Handbook and Behavioral Standards, and ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, and employees. Use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software, and intranet is required, along with adherence to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
