About The Position

The CT Technologist operates specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of human anatomy that help radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals diagnose diseases and disorders. The position performs injection procedures and assists in training students and technologists. The technologist maintains timeliness, accuracy, proficiency, efficiency, and safety while performing duties, and works closely with patients to explain procedures and help them feel comfortable.

Requirements

Radiology certificate required.
Two years of radiology experience preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association preferred.
Radiography (ARRT-R) certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; Indiana certification required within 180 days.
Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required within one year.
Travel required up to 20%.

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree in Radiology.
Two years of radiology experience.
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

Clean, maintain, and restock examination and inventory rooms.
Collaborate with physicians on patient medical issues to determine protocols and procedures.
Perform CT exams and procedures, obtaining optimal images for physician interpretation and processing and evaluating images according to policy and protocol.
Confirm patient identity.
Obtain and record patient identification, medical history, and test results.
Review and update patient documentation in EMR and PACS.
Perform venous punctures using universal precautions while administering contrast media.
Follow established safety guidelines and use ALARA radiation-reduction tools and techniques.
Assist in training students and technologists.
Help patients understand procedures and remain comfortable during them.
