About The Position

The CT Technologist will work in a collaborative environment to provide superior patient care. The incumbent will perform all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation, and archiving CT images, and will be responsible for the care of the patient while in the CT area. This position supports ColumbiaDoctors, one of the largest multi-specialty practices in the Northeast, comprising over 2,800 physicians, surgeons, dentists, and nurses across more than 240 specialties and subspecialties. Requirements

High school graduate or equivalency.
A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience, including operating PETCT equipment.
NYS License, ARRT/CT certified.
Current BLS required.

Will provide coverage as requested throughout practices as needed (multiple sites and flexible schedule including weekends).

Responsibilities

Greet and interact with patients, visitors, vendors, and all faculty and staff.
Perform CT studies and general radiological procedures.
Review imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information provided.
Review all questionable orders with the radiologist and, at the radiologist’s discretion, the referring physician.
Position patient and select appropriate options to ensure best-case imaging.
Observe patient while in the CT area for change in status and make appropriate intervention or contact primary care givers for instruction.
Judge diagnostic quality of finished medical images prior to submission to radiologist for interpretation.
Offer detailed explanation of diagnostic procedures to patients and answer questions as appropriate.
Operate and maintain equipment on a daily basis, maintaining logbooks with equipment performance data: schedule PM, perform QA, maintain records required for and participate in inspections.
Perform clerical responsibilities associated with acquisition, processing, and archiving of patient records.
Other duties as assigned.
