About The Position

The CT Technologist performs computed tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation, and assists with interventional and therapeutic procedures. The role involves preparing patients and scanning protocols, performing CT examinations and administering contrast according to departmental protocols, monitoring patient condition, reviewing images and diagnostic data, and documenting and archiving patient and imaging information. The technologist also supports CT-guided interventional procedures, provides technical instruction to students and staff, maintains equipment and quality assurance, and delivers patient-specific care. This is a part-time position with scheduled shifts that include holidays and weekends, overtime as needed, and on-call assignments as required by department policy. Eligible part-time hires who accept an offer on or before October 22, 2026 may receive a prorated sign-on bonus. The minimum posted rate is $44.30 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent GED program.
• Completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills, which may include Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
• ARRT CT certification within nine months of entering the position.
• New Jersey state license for Diagnostic Radiology (D.R.).
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP certification within 60 days of entering the position.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex CT procedures and produce diagnostic sectional and three-dimensional images.
• Evaluate radiographs for correct identification and diagnostic value.
• Gather relevant information from medical records, health care proxies, and providers to prepare scanning protocols and support patient safety.
• Determine whether patients are appropriately prepared for procedures and prepare them for scanning, including use of shielding and immobilization devices.
• Assist providers with CT-guided interventional procedures as required.
• Perform CT examinations and administer contrast according to established departmental protocols.
• Explain procedures to patients at an appropriate level, and address and document questions and concerns when appropriate.
• Perform venipuncture and IV patency and maintenance procedures according to established guidelines.
• Monitor patients’ physical condition during procedures.
• Review images to determine whether additional scans will improve diagnostic value and perform retrospective reconstruction on raw data.
• Provide technical assistance and instruction to students, employees, and medical residents.
• Follow Image Gently and Image Wisely principles, infection-control guidelines, and sterile techniques.
• Revise scanning parameters to better visualize pathology in accordance with established protocols.
• Review diagnostic or therapeutic data for completeness and accuracy; document relevant data in the appropriate record and archive images according to guidelines.
• Assess equipment performance against established guidelines and perform modality-specific daily and monthly quality assurance.
• Perform clerical duties using EPIC, PACS, Teletracking, patient-scheduling tools, and other computer systems.
• Greet patients using AIDET standards and provide care tailored to their age, culture, language, and communication needs.
• Administer emergency care, including CPR, if necessary.
• Work scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends; provide overtime as needed and participate in on-call assignments as required by department policy.
• Adhere to employee identification, standards of behavior, attendance, punctuality, and organizational competency requirements.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
• Meet the stated physical requirements: lift at least 25 pounds, push and pull at least 50 pounds, and stand at least six hours per day.
