The CT Technologist will work in a Level II trauma hospital setting, performing Computed Tomography under the direction of the Radiologist. This role requires the ability to independently acquire proper exams, operate all CT equipment, and work with diverse patient age groups (pediatric, geriatric, febrile, critical acute care), adjusting techniques and positions for optimal examinations. The technologist will serve outpatients, inpatients, and emergency department patients in a high-volume environment, handling acute, chronically ill, trauma, and stroke patients. Responsibilities include exam room presentation, patient transportation, data entry into the Radiology Information System, scheduling, patient education on prep, obtaining correct orders and paperwork, billing, and communicating with medical staff. The role also involves maintaining knowledge of PACS and reporting equipment malfunctions. Caregivers are expected to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as directed. The CT Technologist must follow all policies and procedures set by the Medical Imaging Department, facility, and organization.
