The CT Technologist performs procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. They operate CT Scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency. This equipment includes scanner, post processing stations/programs, IV contrast injectors, O2 and suction equipment, patient transport and patient monitoring equipment. The role involves examining requests, verifying orders, preparing and explaining procedures to patients, documenting medical history, administering IV contrast, evaluating image quality, performing basic patient care, and initiating life support measures when necessary. The technologist also performs CT scanning and assists Radiologists/PAs during invasive procedures, practices sterile technique, adheres to infection control policies, and follows radiation safety standards. They are responsible for operating the radiology computer system, documenting contrast administration, and maintaining a clean and stocked work area. The position requires rotation of shifts, including call back, holidays, and weekends, and adherence to the hospital's attendance policy.
