About The Position

This is a paid apprenticeship model, a 16-week program that combines related online education through the ASRT and on-the-job learning at Corewell Health. Completion of this program satisfies the ARRT 16-credit Structured Education Requirements for CT. After successful completion of all 12 modules of the program, participants will receive 16 CE credits and a document from the ASRT (American Society of Radiologic Technologists) recognizing their achievement. The program includes a requirement for a 1-year commitment as a CT Tech (at a .5 FTE status or higher) with Corewell Health that will begin upon entering a CT Technologist position. Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the apprentice will perform diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment. Technologists must demonstrate good clinical skills and provide the best possible images for interpretation while applying ALARA principles of radiation protection.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree
• Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program
• CRT-Radiologic Technologist Registration - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required OR CRT-Nuclear Medicine Technologist – NMTCB Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board OR CRT-Nuc Med Technologist (N) – ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
• 1-year commitment as a CT Tech (at a .5 FTE status or higher) with Corewell Health that will begin upon entering a CT Technologist position
• Comply with the MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza vaccine requirement if in an on-site or hybrid workplace category
• Drug-free workplace

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment
• Demonstrate good clinical skills and provide the best possible images for interpretation while applying ALARA principles of radiation protection
