About The Position

This is a paid apprenticeship model which is a 16-week program that combines related online education through the ASRT, and on the job learning at Corewell Health. Completion of this program satisfies the ARRT 16-credit Structured Education Requirements for CT. After successful completion of all 12 modules of the program, participants will receive 16 CE credits and a document from the ASRT (American Society of Radiologic Technologists) recognizing their achievement. Program includes requirement for a 1-year commitment as a CT Tech (at a .5 FTE status or higher) with Corewell Health that will begin upon entering a CT Technologist position.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree
  • Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program.
  • CRT-Radiologic Technologist Registration - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required OR CRT-Nuclear Medicine Technologist – NMTCB Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board OR CRT-Nuc Med Technologist (N) – ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment.
  • Applies ALARA principles of radiation protection.
