Operates CT and auxiliary equipment, processes images, and maintains and cleans equipment. Maintains required documentation. Prepares patients for exams by relieving anxiety and explaining procedures in layman's terms. Ensures necessary consent forms are obtained. Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards and procedures. Positions patients for radiographs, arranging and adjusting immobilization devices. Adjusts x-ray equipment and operates controls for correct exposure. Monitors patient's condition during the procedure, recognizing and reporting abnormalities like fainting, discoloration, or contrast reactions to the Radiologist. Keys in patient history data and other pertinent information. Operates equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival of disc memory to tape. Processes and maintains exposed images, labels film for identification, and maintains required records. Utilizes film markers to ensure proper side indication and legibly labels images with correct date and patient identification. Enters exams onto the daily log sheet as needed and completes correct tracking steps for each examination. Performs related duties as required.
