The CT Technologist provides empathetic and instructional patient care, operating imaging equipment, collecting data using computers, and caring for instrumentation. This role ensures patient physical safety and adheres to radiation safety protocols, State Licensure scope of practice, and approved protocols. The technologist will explain procedures, maintain equipment, communicate professionally, assist the Radiologist, and maintain certifications and competencies. They will perform examinations proficiently, efficiently, and safely, maintain patient confidentiality, assemble data for radiologists, generate exam charges, and act as a patient advocate. Responsibilities include performing complex CT scanner operations, positioning patients, operating power injectors for contrast media, assisting with interventional CT procedures, and performing IV starts. Care must be provided according to the population served.
