Requirements

  • Completion of ARRT registry in radiologic technology required (two-year accredited program).
  • Completion of ARRT registry in CT scan required (achieved within two years of hire)
  • Completion of formal and/or on the job training on cross sectional anatomy.
  • Minimum of an associate degree is required; candidates are required to obtain their Associates of Science degree (can be substituted within a related field), within three (3) years of their start date as outlined in the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment.
  • State licensure required.
  • Certification in CPR.
  • Yearly PEEPS certification required for proper and safe positioning and transfer of patients.
  • State of Delaware licensure required.
  • The successful completion of the CT Registry exam is a job requirement. A technologist, who is recruited and non-certified, will have a grace period of 2 years following hire to pass this exam.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of CT Scanner Units that are both diagnostic and procedural, and other radiology supported computer systems.
  • Performs CT procedures and quality control as defined by department guidelines.
  • Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses. Complies with Joint Commission regulations.
  • Ability to perform high level cardiac CT imaging including ability to troubleshoot cardiac gating, ability to complete post-processing on both the scan unit and GE AW server, knowledge, and proficiency in the Heartflow process for outside fractional flow rate evaluation, ability to utilize 3DR Labs for outside processing of pre-TAVR evaluations.
  • Knowledge and proficiency of acute stroke imaging process including ability to perform brain perfusion imaging and ability to utilize RAPID software for post-processing stroke evaluation.
  • Ability to perform interventional CT procedures including biopsies, drain placements, chest tubes, ablations, thoracentesis, and paracentesis.
  • Completes all technical assigned imaging and non-imaging procedures in the designated scheduled times.
  • Enters accurate patient study information into the clinical care systems.
