About The Position

The CT Reader is responsible for analyzing, processing, measuring, and organizing cardiovascular computed tomography (CT) imaging data to support clinical research studies and departmental objectives within the Cardiology Department. The incumbent performs image annotation, image analysis, database management, and archiving activities while ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with research protocols. This position works closely with research staff, investigators, and department leadership to maintain imaging databases and facilitate efficient research operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience working in a laboratory, research, imaging, or healthcare-related environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of database management and electronic recordkeeping systems.
  • Ability to learn specialized research and imaging applications.
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training required or must be obtained within designated timeframe.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a science, health-related, imaging, or research field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience working with CT imaging, cardiovascular anatomy, clinical research, or data management preferred.
  • Experience maintaining databases and organizing electronic records preferred.
  • Familiarity with CT imaging software and image annotation tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review, measure, and evaluate cardiovascular CT images according to established research protocols.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of cardiac CT imaging studies.
  • Identify and document imaging findings, measurements, and study-specific data.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of image analysis activities.
  • Assist with quality assurance reviews of imaging data and study documentation.
  • Reconstruct three-dimensional (3D) CT images utilizing specialized imaging software.
  • Process imaging datasets to support research objectives and clinical investigations.
  • Organize and maintain electronic imaging records and related documentation.
  • Upload, retrieve, and manage digital imaging files from internal and external sources.
  • Ensure proper storage and maintenance of imaging archives.
  • Enter measurement results and imaging data into research databases.
  • Maintain and update study databases to ensure integrity and accuracy of information.
  • Verify data completeness and resolve discrepancies when identified.
  • Generate reports and provide data support for investigators and research staff.
  • Assist with tracking project metrics and imaging-related deliverables.
  • Receive, organize, and maintain CT image files and associated study documentation.
  • Coordinate with research personnel regarding imaging requirements and project timelines.
  • Maintain confidential research and patient information in accordance with institutional policies.
  • Assist with departmental projects and operational initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties necessary for the efficient operation of the department.
