About The Position

Partner with CSR and Foundation teams to position Florida Blue Foundation as a trusted convener and catalyst, enabling community organizations to collaborate effectively and strengthen their networks and partnerships. Execute the CSR/Foundation community engagement strategy and programs to address current and anticipated organizational needs. Collaborate with Foundation and CSR leadership to ensure community engagement activities are efficient, cost-effective, compliant, and aligned with the enterprise's mission and values.

Requirements

  • 6+ years related work experience with working in corporate philanthropy, not-for-profit organization or project/relationship management, including three or more years of budget/management experience
  • Related Bachelor's degree required Communications, Public Relations or related field
  • Experience and skills in the planning and execution of large, in-person events.
  • Strong project management and operational skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders across the organization and in the community.
  • Requires excellent written, verbal, problem solving skills, and negotiating skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in formulating and implementing policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate complex information in an easy to understand manner; able to deliver key messages effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve business results in an environment of ambiguity, conflict and constantly changing business needs.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining confidentiality regarding sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and activate events (workshops, forums, symposium) with direction from Senior Director, Community Engagement and other partners; manage budgets, contracts, vendors and outside consultants to develop and tailor programs to meet the organization’s needs.
  • Provide oversight and ensure delivery of community engagement programs, partnering with local resources in other geographic locations and virtually.
  • Leverage, disseminate and translate grant results and community engagement success stories to position the Foundation and Florida Blue as a thought leader among various stakeholders.
  • Manage and develop communications content such as publications, papers, and presentations on program findings and outcomes of Foundation work, working in collaboration with Enterprise Communications. Collaborate with staff and stakeholders to effectively communicate results both internally and externally.
  • Create and distribute monthly Foundation newsletters to educate nonprofit partners throughout the state and communicate our events, programs and outcomes. Maintain information posted on Foundation’s website including grant proposal communications, programs and events. Create thought papers, articles, presentations and collateral on program findings and best practices in coordination with Enterprise Communications.
  • Seek out opportunities and submit proposals to position the Foundation and Florida Blue as trusted leaders and experts in the field. Represent the company and Foundation’s work to internal and external constituents; coordinate and work with others in the state and nationally.
  • Responsible for creating and executing on the overall community engagement plan, in coordination with the Senior Director of Community Engagement.
  • Develop and implement best practices and progressive knowledge of the trends in community engagement and new technology as it relates to the design and development of community engagement programs.
  • Lead external and internal committees formed to assist Foundation with its thought leadership and community engagement programs.
  • Develop relationships externally with networks of foundations, associations, corporations, nonprofits and issue experts to advance the work in health and other related needs in the community.
  • Work closely with Senior Director, Community Engagement to research emerging trends and community needs, and to develop programs and thought leadership opportunities that align with the Foundation and corporate priorities and objectives.
