About The Position

RMSI-JTAC Equipment Holding Ltd. operating as Ski Marmot Basin Limited Partnership is hiring ten plus Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance (CSIA) level 3 ski instructors to teach skiing in the 2026-27 snow season, from November 1, 2026, to May 3, 2027. The role involves teaching skiing to various age groups and skill levels, from beginners to advanced, and ensuring a safe and fun learning environment. Instructors will also assist guests with rental equipment and adhere to the Alpine Responsibility Code. Level 3 instructors are expected to teach advanced technical lessons in challenging off-piste terrain, lead instructor training sessions, and mentor junior instructors.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a CSIA Level 3 alpine ski instructor certification.
  • Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid work permit for November 2026 through May 2027.
  • Spoken and written English proficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • CSIA TD (Trainer Designation) certification.
  • Proficiency in other languages such as French, German, Spanish, Dutch, and Danish.

Responsibilities

  • Teach skiing to all age groups from 3 years through to adults.
  • Fit equipment correctly and lead students through progressions to safely control speed and direction on blue terrain.
  • Teach the safe use of all lift systems.
  • Educate students in the Alpine Responsibility Code.
  • Tailor lessons to students based on age, ability, and lesson type (private, group, youth group) to meet client expectations in a safe and fun manner.
  • Provide basic training from the rentals department to assist guests using rental services.
  • Safely progress students from blue groomed terrain to black groomed terrain.
  • Safely introduce techniques and tactics for Off Piste skiing/snowboarding in small bumps, powder, and choppy snow conditions.
  • Take on a leadership role in group organization, including leading ability splits and organizing large groups.
  • Teach strong technical lessons in black and double black Off Piste terrain.
  • Teach high-performance lessons.
  • Supervise instructors while overseeing school groups.
  • Mentor and guide junior instructors throughout the season.
  • Lead instructor training sessions, including Level 1 and Level 2 preparation.
  • Communicate effectively in spoken and written English.

Benefits

  • Hourly wage of $28.00 to $30.40.
  • Additional $0.80 per hour for each additional certification (maximum of 3).
  • Commission-based pay for Private Request lessons.
  • For 1st-year instructors: $21.00/hour plus their hourly rate.
  • For 2nd+ year instructors: $27.00/hour plus their hourly rate.
