About The Position

This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and families, providing essential support and administrative functions within a hospital setting. The CSA will be responsible for greeting patients, assisting with wayfinding, answering inquiries, scheduling appointments, managing patient registration, and resolving issues related to billing, medical records, and scheduling. The position also involves administrative documentation, data entry into electronic health records, managing patient messages, and collaborating with various clinical and administrative departments to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of [Number] years of customer service or high-volume call center experience.
  • Proficiency with computers and hospital software (Epic Beaker or similar EMR systems) is a significant advantage.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication, a compassionate and empathetic demeanor, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced hospital environment.

  • Prior data entry and scheduling experience are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients and families, greeting them warmly, providing wayfinding assistance, and answering inquiries.
  • Accurately schedule medical appointments, procedures, and tests.
  • Manage patient check-ins and verify demographic and insurance information.
  • Actively research and resolve telephone and in-person inquiries related to billing, medical records, and scheduling.
  • Enter data efficiently into the hospital’s electronic health records system.
  • Manage MyChart messages and assist with patient portals.
  • Coordinate with triage nurses, clinical teams, and billing departments to ensure a smooth patient transition and resolve any roadblocks.
