The role involves safely supervising and coordinating aggregate production workers, operating equipment, and ensuring the production of quality aggregates at maximum efficiency with assigned crushers.

Requirements

  • Over 2 years up to and including 4 years of experience in a post-high school, work, military, institutional, or vocational environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in aggregate production.
  • Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card, and acceptable driving record.
  • Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteously/respectfully of others.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, Lockout/Tagout regulations.
  • Experience with aggregate sampling and lab testing.
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting crusher, screen plant, and wash plant equipment.
  • Experience coordinating the movement of plant equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily equipment inspections, walk arounds, and site inspections to identify and correct unsafe conditions and ensure equipment is properly maintained and repaired.
  • Communicate effectively (verbally, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high-stress situations.
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve issues related to material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.
  • Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, Lockout/Tagout, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Asphalt and Concrete departments to determine the most cost-effective aggregate site plan.
  • Coordinate and supervise the moving of crusher, screen plants, and wash plants.
  • Coordinate changing of crusher cone liners, jaw dies, and screens as needed.
  • Operate and troubleshoot crusher, screen plant, and wash plant as needed.
  • Monitor material quality and inspect/troubleshoot material, checking gradation quality, oversize rocks, and contamination.
  • Coach and monitor team members and sites for MSHA and safety regulation compliance, and assist in training new employees.
  • Coordinate and/or deliver aggregate samples to the lab for quality assurance.
  • Record pertinent information accurately and relay production, quality, equipment, and personnel information to the Aggregate Manager or other appropriate team members.
  • Approve and submit work hours of personnel and pertinent job information daily.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
