About The Position

As a key member of the Energy Marketing team, the Crude Oil Scheduler is responsible for the nomination, monitoring, and accurate reporting of R360’s facility and pipeline positions across our network and on the various pipelines which Energy Marketing is a shipper. The expectation of this role is to optimize facility movements through balancing transactions and to provide market intelligence to the Marketing team as it relates to various feeder pipeline positions and market factors, capitalizing on your knowledge of the Energy Marketing business. The Crude Oil Scheduler is part of a dynamic and results oriented team and requires strong attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 2 years of Energy Marketing experience with at least 1 year in a scheduling capacity
  • A university degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Engineering, however a combination of education and experience will also be considered
  • Knowledge of Canadian feeder pipeline movements considered a key asset
  • Ability to identify and recommend efficient solutions to current processes
  • Proven analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills: able to communicate effectively, accurately and consistently at all levels
  • Effective time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel in particular
  • Proficiency in Egistix, or other ETRM systems, and truck ticket software systems and knowledge of production accounting processes and reporting requirements are assets
  • Ability to effectively engage with counterparts in external organizations to problem solve and build ongoing relationships
  • Must be self-motivated and able to function in a team environment, and willing to take on additional tasks as required.
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment requirements

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Active nomination, balancing, monitoring and reporting of Energy Marketing facility, lease and stream volumes
  • Accountable for accurate volume position reporting and forecasting, working closely with Facility teams and counterparties
  • Provide ongoing position updates to ensure volumes are moved according to plan and making recommendations for adjustments for market and facility disruptions
  • Work with facility operations and trucking companies to schedule and monitor diluent and other intra-facility volumes moved by truck
  • Ensure volume and quality management under direction from Marketing and Operations teams to ensure maximum margin generation
  • Develop strong relationships with shippers, producers, pipelines, trucking companies and internal stakeholders
  • Provide on-call support as required during off-hours
