About The Position

Stellar is seeking a talented Crowd Artist for a new Marvel Studios streaming series. This role involves bringing massive sets and scenes to life by populating them with characters and assets using technical simulation skills. The ideal candidate is a creative, self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment and has a passion for creating realistic crowds.

Requirements

2 plus years of experience on feature films, episodic television, or animated features with a strong focus on crowd work.
Hands-on experience building digital assets and running complex simulations in Atoms.
Problem-solving skills with a balance of technical simulation skills and an artistic eye for crowd behavior.
Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Nice To Haves

A strong understanding of Linux based operating systems.
Deep experience with background crowd simulation methods and workflows.
Working knowledge of Flow Production Tracking (formerly ShotGrid).
Crowd knowledge in other software such as Houdini, Golaem.

Responsibilities

Use simulation techniques to populate characters and assets, turning empty environments into vibrant, living scenes.
Set up crowd assets meticulously and create Atoms simulations for more complex character behaviors.
Evaluate and troubleshoot issues that arise during the setup of crowds, testing new procedures and workflows.
Work closely with the FX department, Lookdev, Lighting, Animation department, and CG Supervisor to ensure crowds integrate with the creative vision.
Actively collaborate with other departments on creative solutions, workflow improvements, and handoffs.
Understand deadlines and task assignments, consistently meeting them while keeping the team updated on progress.
