In this important public-service role, you will help create a safe, welcoming environment for children traveling to and from school. Your attention, dependability, and sound judgment will support families, schools, and the broader South Jordan community each day.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old
• Committed to protecting the safety of children and pedestrians.
• Reliable and punctual, with strong attention to detail
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with children, families, school employees, police personnel, and members of the public.
• Able to stand, walk, and react quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Friendly and professional, with strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe crossing for children on their way to and from school
• Monitor traffic conditions and determine the best times for crossing
• Prepare the school crossing zone by placing warning cones in the street before crossing periods.
• Educate children about traffic-safety rules and encourage safe behavior near the roadway.
• Report crossing violations and safety concerns to supervisors
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions, ensuring safety at all times
