About The Position

The Crossing Guard works at assigned intersections to ensure the safety and protection of children crossing roads on the way to school. This role involves stopping on-coming traffic and escorting children across the street, as well as placing and removing school crossing and reduced speed signs at the assigned intersection before and after the shift. The duties outlined are general and may vary based on specific job assignments and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have means of transportation to assigned work site.
  • Successful completion of a post-offer employment medical examination and background investigation.
  • Adherence to all County safety guidelines.
  • Complete all FEMA training(s) assigned to this position.
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver’s license by the date of hire and maintenance of a valid license while employed in this position.
  • Complete required supervisor training, if applicable.
  • Must pass an oral board examination.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED, is preferred.
  • Work experience in security, safety or law enforcement is preferred.
