About The Position

To provide a safe environment for students when crossing the street. This role involves regulating pedestrian crossing at the school entrance to maintain an orderly flow and ensuring a safe environment for students before and after school. The Crossing Guard will also communicate effectively with GISD staff, building administrators, parents, and the community. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Ability to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
